Doc Quintana (talk · contribs · count) Hi, i've been around since September 2009 and I'm at around 3,000 edits. How am I doing? I'd like to aim for an RFA in the summer.Doc Quintana (talk) 17:40, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. What are your primary contributions to Wikipedia? Are there any about which you are particularly pleased? Why?
I've welcomed a few hundred people, my mentorship of Grancafe (talk · contribs), and Manchester, New Hampshire municipal election, 2009.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I've had a few conflicts in the past, and I think constructive and cordial conflict is perfectly acceptable on Wikipedia, but when things get tense I try to follow a few steps.

1. Politely revert if I really feel strongly about the edit or try to find a middle ground edit.

2. If the user goes 2RR, I put a disputed tag on the article and send the conversation to the talk page to try and find Consensus.

Usually this works out fine.

Reviews

  • Well, taking a look at your edit history, you seem to be off to a very smooth start. Your edits are good, (you've done a very good job over at here, for example), and your edit summaries are consistently informative. You're doing fine with your language and formatting, too. I can't find anything in that arena that I'd object to.
And, just as important as the edits themselves; your attitude with which you approach your work is great. You've been getting involved in the community, at WP:AFD, WP:RFA, and the welcoming committee. You're obviously willing to communicate, and communication is essential to a smoothly running wiki. (You handled this discussion well, and if you continue like that, you'll do fine.)
Most of all, from looking at your talk page, and your comments on other talk pages, I can see that you are willing to ask for help. This is very good, and it's a trait that you should never loose. The wiki is a big place, and there's always something new to learn.
The only other thing I'm going to mention is this. It seemed tone of your text that you felt a little hurt at the end of the conversation. Remember, don't take anything on the wiki too personally. Some people just naturally have a very cold style of writing, but you can't let it annoy you.
Over all, you're doing great! I think you're off to a fine start, and if you continue as you are, you will undoubtedly produce much more quality work. Sophus Bie (talk) 04:57, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
